• Several participants of the NSIF meeting in Toronto in December of 1989 visited Ralph Henderson in Ontario on their return trip to the U.S.  They informed SGI about an outstanding litter of Hampshires at Ralhen. 
•  Jet was our choice from this uniformly high performing, extra lean, muscular and very structurally correct litter.  The three boars in the litter had indexes of 140, 141 and 150 with backfats of 0.49, 0.45 and 0.43 inches. 
•  Jet’s sire has a high percentage of Swedish Breeding and has an excellent progeny test record.  He has a 172 Index with an EBV of –1.7mm for backfat and –7.7 for days to 90KG based on 60 progeny.  Jet’s two grandsires have indexes of 140 and 134 and EBV’s for backfat of –2.00 and –1.4mm. 
•  Jet’s dam has a performance index of 122 with only 0.36 in backfat and a 177 SPI.  She weaned all but one of the pigs born live in her first three litters.  Jet’s maternal grandmother weaned 50 to 53 pigs born live in 7 litters and averaged an excellent 2.36 in backfat and a 177 SPI.  She weaned all but one of the pigs born live in her first three litters. 
•  Jet’s maternal grandmother weaned 50 of 53 pigs born live in 7 litters and averaged an excellent 2.36 litters per year. 
•  Jet is certainly a remarkably lean shouldered, clean jowled and trim middled boar with an abundance of loin, rump and butt muscle.  He is also a superbly designed, super sound boar that is very long and level down his top and out through his rump. 
•  He has a big meaty shoulder with his blades pulled far apart on top and good spring and curvature of rib.  He is a freewheeling boar with excellent feet and an ideal hip, rump and hock design.  Jet is highly active with excellent libido. 
•  Jet offers U.S. producers an opportunity to sample outcross genetics that are truly superior for leanness, muscling and correctness of structural design.
