Hombre was the $8500 1st place class five boar and Reserve Junior Champion at the 1991 Indiana State Fair admired by many as the breeding-on boar of the offering.
-
He is an extra wide-sprung, exceeding heavy-duty and massive boar with superior muscle shape.
-
He is extreme in heaviness of bone, boldness of shoulder, spring of rib, width of chest floor and total width of body. Also, truly outstanding is the total dimension of the hip, rump and ham areas of Hombre.
-
He’s long and level with very good shoulder placement and tracks wide front and rear. Pioneer, Hombre’s sire, was the 1989 Indiana State Fair Junior Champion Boar.
-
Hombre bears a strong phenotypic resemblance to his sire, particularly in his extreme heaviness of structure, natural body width and total muscle thickness.
-
Hombre’s dam was the 1989 Illinois State Fair Reserve Grand Female shown by Callahan Hampshires and purchased by Paschen Farm. She is a hard working, very impressive female that combines superior structure, bone and muscle with correctness of design and a particularly high quality udder. After four parities she has weaned an average of 10 pigs per litter.
-
Last year the same mating as Hombre produced the 1990 Indiana State Fair $4200 Junior Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Boar.
-
Hombre’s outstanding growth rate, large muscle volume and extreme heaviness of structure should make him an excellent choice to produce derby or show barrows, as well as high performing, meaty, rugged Hampshire boars and gilts.
