• Sundown was the $11,000 Top Selling Hampshire boar at the 1999 National Barrow Show.

• However, Dean Myhre thinks Sundown is one of Rising Sun’s very best sons.  Dean bought back an interest to concentrate the Rising Sun line in his herd.  At Austin, Sundown put all the pieces together to make an outstanding terminal or show pig sire. 
• He combines excellent growth (-2.51 EPDs for Days) with outstanding cutability (0.39 BF, 8.85 LEA).  These traits are also well documented in his pedigree.  Rising Sun is the Number One Ranking Hampshire on TSI (145.3) 3^rd on EPDs for days (-4.96) and 10^th on EPDs Lbs lean (1.54) in the Winter 2000 Across Herd Sire Summary 
• Sundown was the extreme one at Austin in terms of combining an ultra naked appearance with an explosive muscle pattern. 
• He has that “eye poppin” muscular shape of top, a big square, well dimpled rump and a huge butt with very definite individual muscle that  ripple as he walks. 
• He is also a very well balanced, stylish boar that immediately catches your eye.  Sound and very functional he struts out with authority and elegance.  Rising Sun sprung upon the horizon with a mighty splash.  Sundown can take your herd beyond the horizon into the 2000s with the splendor of a brilliant sunset.
