ALCATRAZ is an outstanding boar that is bred to be a generator. He is sired by an outstanding proven sire of superior Hampshries and out of an extremely productive sow in terms of both reporduction and quality of offspring. He combines the Wilson, Tad, Paiute, and Buckeye lines in one powerful package. His sire, RC Cola, is probably the most popular and best generating Hampshire boar ever to stand at SGI. His dam is also the dam of the outstanding proven sire, Air Wolf, at Compart’s: the top selling boar at the 1985 Hampshire Summer Conference for $7,500 to Gustafson Farms; and the top selling boar in Compart’s June 1986 production sale. She has averaged 9.8 farrowed, 9.3 weaned, and 142 lb 21-day weight on seven litters. She has weaned 65 out of 69 pigs born and has a BVSPI of 107.55. ALCATRAZ has the same extreme leanness, muscle, and heaviness of structure as his sire – just bigger framed, longer bodied, longer rumped, and looser strucutured. He has excellent definition of muscle and leanness down his top and out through his rump and ham, and is definitely a freewheeling, sound one. A new generation Hampshire that puts together leanness, muscle, and bone in a big package.
