•  SGI has received many requests during the last six months for Hampshire semen from a somewhat bigger scaled boar that is extreme in his freedom of fat and expression of muscle yet is heavy boned, sound, and correct in his structural design. 
•  We specifically selected Windwalker to meet this need. 
• Windwalker fits the description both phenotypically and genotypically.  He remained very lean and free of fat over his top, along his shoulder, and underneath while remaining on the self-feeder until 350 lb. 
• His sire is a grandson of Whirlwind that has consistently sired bigger scaled hogs that have been very lean with excellent loin eye areas when hung on the rail. 
• Windwalker’s dam is a littermate to the Champion Gilt at the 1987 Summer Conference.  The judge, Dr. Lauren Christian, emphasized that she excelled in leanness and muscle content yet was sound and broody. 
• Windwalker is from a gilt litter of 10 farrowed, 9 weaned, and 118 lb 21-day weight.  His dam is raising 10 in her second litter. 
• If you want to make your boars, replacement gilts, or show barrows leaner and more expressive in their muscle while maintaining bone and correctness of design, we recommend you try “walking with the wind.”
