• OLD JOE (O.J.) is a big framed, lean, heavy boned Yorkshire boar that is extremely long bodied and long necked, yet moderate in length of leg. 
• His massive, correctly designed foot and shoulder structure may well be his most impressive features. 
• O.J.‛s underline quality, spacing and teat numbers are excellent and he consistently transmits these traits to his offspring.  Jim Grimm has farrowed 34 litters from O.J. daughters (mostly gilt litters) with an average of 10 weaned and 143 lb 21 day wt.  The EPD for litter size at weaning for O.J. daughters is + 1.9 pigs. 
• O.J. comes from a performance tested background. 
• His sire, Snow Chief, has had 14 sons tested in the North Carolina Test Station with average figures of 2.50 ADG, 0.79 BF, 5.46 LEA, 2.27 FE and 132.5 days to 230 lb. 
• The dam of the 1989 Hog College Boar was sired by O.J.
• Many of the SGI commercial customers who regularly use semen to produce replacement females, have asked which boar‛s daughters have consistently excelled in the farrowing house in terms of ease of farrowing, litter size and milking ability.
