  • PORK CHOP is certainly one of the very best sons of Ulf produced to date.  Ulf needs no introduction ranking 1st on Maternal Index, 1st on Terminal Index, 1st on EPDS for born live, 1st on EPDS for 21-day litter weight and 2nd on EPDS for backfat in the June 1992 Yorkshire Crossherd Sire Summary.
  • PORK CHOP sired the Champion Boar at the 1992 Yorkshire Winter Conference and the Co-Top Selling Boar at the 1991 Autumn Classic.  He was the 2nd Ranking Yorkshire in the National Barrow Show Fall 1991 Super Sire Progeny Test where his offspring excelled in gain (1.71), carcass backfat (0.88), length (31.8) and muscle quality (top ranking over all breeds with 9.11 score).
  • PORK CHOP’s first daughters have also excelled in ther farrowing house averaging 12.1 born live and 141 lb 21-day weaning weight (EPD - 8.35 lb).
  • PORK CHOP has the second highest maternal line index in the Dec. 1991 Yorkshire Crossherd Sire Summary behind his sire, Ulf’s top index.  The sire of the dam of PORK CHOP is from the Chuck Olson Ultra line that has consistently excelled in EPDS for number born live and SPI in the Yorkshire Crossherd Sire Summary.
  • PORK CHOP’s maternal granddam is one of the outstanding 40 litter sows at Grimm’s that was featured in the December 1988 Yorkshire Journal.  They produced 24K, Rachet, JGR& Rat 22-6 used by Kirkwood Jr. College and number of other outstanding sires.  The 4 littermate 40 litter sows were outstanding pig raises with SPI’s of 102 to 105.  They each produced 5 to 8 litters and left a number of equally productive daughters.  Their dam, the 30-8 sow, farrowed and raised 13 litters and stood at the top of Grimm’s SPI list for first 9 litters with a remarkable SPI of 108.42.
  • PORK CHOP is a big framed, extra loose structured boar that is super sound.  He has excellent cushion front and rear, very good foot size with even toes and is a very aggressive, sure breeder.
  • PORK CHOP was a very lean boar superior muscling when scanned and has consistently passed these traits to his offspring.  SGI would like to thank Jim Grimm for allowing us to offer our customers the opportunity to use a proven sire with the genetic superiority of PORK CHOP for numerous economically important traits.
