Kodiak’s pedigree is stacked with outstanding sow productivity. His sire, Karlstorp 65-2, is ranked first in the breed for EPDs born alive while his littermate, Karlstorp 65-3, is ranked number two. The paternal grandsire, Karlstorp 204-2, has an accumulative record at Cedar Ridge on 249 daughers of 11.1 born alive and a BF EPD of –0.07 based on the scanning of 337 sons.

Kodiak’s paternal grandam has averaged 11.5 born alive for 8 parities with a remarkable 167 lb 21-day litter weight. His dam has an excellent 153 lb 21-day litter weight after her first 5 litters.

Longevity is also a plus with Kodiak’s maternal grandam averaging 11.9 born alive and 145 lb 21-day litter weight for 9 parities while his maternal great grandam averaged 11.7 born alive for a phenomenal 16 farrowings with an 135 lb 21-day litter weight.

Kodiak is a very stylish, well-balanced boar that is very level designed. He has excellent muscle shape down his top, tremendous flare to his long, level rump and very thick, meaty ham.

His abundant muscling does not restrict his very fluid movement and excellent breeding agility. Another plus with Kodiak is his heavy-duty skeleton.

He displays a big forearm and blade, stout yet clean bone and big feet. Many admired Kodiak at Austin for his very stylish and muscular phenotype that is the current trend in the show ring.
