WALKER RED was a class winner and third top selling boar at the 1994 World Pork Expo. Breeders and commercial producers from around the world marveled at his extreme muscle thickness combines with superior structural design and soundness.
-
He is a wide based, even toed, free wheeling, tough made boar that took the rigors of the slotted confinement finishing unit where he was raised. At the same time he is an extra thick muscled, lean trim kind of boar that is needed to sire market hogs that bring a premium on the lean value system.

WALKER RED is a linebred Wally 1-1 whose illustrious sons include Meat Packer and Attitude. These two phenomenal sires need no introduction in the Duroc breed. They have consistently been the sire of top selling individuals and received premier sire awards at state and national shows. However; more important is the outstanding job Wally 1-1 bred boars have been doing in commercial herds in terms of reducing backfat and adding muscle while maintaining the growth and ruggedness of traditional U.S. Durocs.
-
WALKER RED’s sire, JRW 60-32, had only 0.48 backfat with a 6.55 loin eye while the first 16 of his offspring offered for sale in Walker’s June 25th sale averaged 0.44 backfat and 6.69 loin eye. Three littermate boars to WALKER RED averaged 0.45 BF with 6.93 loin eye.

Certainly WALKER RED genetics can be an asset in a commercial operation that is interested in production of rugged, durable, high performing hogs that will bring a premium at the market. His outstanding combination of muscle, structural design and overall balance should also make him a favorite among show pig producers.
