IMS3 MEATPACER 112-4

• MEATPACER 112-4 is the sire of the $28,000 National Barrow Show Grand Champion boar.  Double Play, bred by Ivan Miller and now serving in the Howard Parrish herd.  Double Play created quite a stir at the National Barrow Show because of his rare combination of  tremendous growth and heaviness of structure combines with superb leanness and muscling. 
• MEATPACER 112-4 was the popular second place Ivan Miller boar at the 1993 Fall Classic where he also excelled in natural width of body, heaviness of structure and lean-muscular design.  He is a very big footed, heavy boned boar that is extra wide based. 
• A problem free, extremely well balance boar; he has excellent shape of top, a huge-thick rump and the big butt that show pig and commercial producers desire today.  He consistently stamps his offspring with these most desirable traits of growth, correctness and durability of structure, leanness and very thick muscling.  Double Play is not the only outstanding  Duroc sired by MEATPACER 112-4, Ivan Miller bred two sows to him before taking him to the Fall Classic.  In addition to Double Play, they kept a littermate boar with 136 days to 230 and 0.57 backfat, a $2000 boar and $1000 gilt sold at four months of age, the popular $2400 gilt of Miller’s at the National Barrow Show, herd boars going to Andy Johnson and Dale Davis as well as the Reserve Champion Duroc barrow at the Indiana State Fair all came from these two litters. 
• MEATPACER 112-4 has also done an outstanding job of adding structure and muscle while reducing backfat at Rozeboom’s whether used to produce purebred Duroc or termina crossbred pigs. 
•  MEATPACER 112-3’S DAM IS STILL VERY PRODUCTIVE AFTER EIGHT PARITIES.  She is sired by former SGI sire, Zeke, and her dam is by another SGI sire, Prince Albert.  MEATPACER 112-4’s sire, Meatpacer 8-1, certainly needs no introduction to Duroc breeders.  His offspring have dominated recent shows and he is one of the top ranked boars in the recent Across-Herd Hire Summary for backfat EPD’s and Terminal Sire Index as well as ranking 3^rd for EPD’s born live and 6^th on Maternal Line Index.  T
