• When asked to help us come up with a name for this boar, Guy Jackson suggested we call him Floater”.   With one word Guy had described a boar that seemed to move effortlessly on any surface.  This was exactly what drew our attention to Floater when Guy turned his pen loose in the Cargill unit. 
• Floater is a big-bodied boar with extreme internal dimension from front to rear.  So many times with design and dimension we also get fat and light muscle; but Floater’s topline reads lean with excellent muscle expression. 
• On the scan sheet Floater and two littermate boars all ranked in the top ten for TSI for their contemporary group and all three had actual loin eye scans of over 7.00 sq in.  Their sire, Genetic Tool, does an excellent job of combining Fjord’s scale with the sound, basic design of the Warrior line.  Genetic Tool is one of the most popular boars in the Jackson Stud. 
• On the maternal side, Floater has excellent maternal phenotype and a superior genotype with SPI’s on grandparents ranging from 106 through 124.  His maternal grandsire, WFD3 Trim 1-1, ranks 4^th for 21-day litter weight in the November 1997 Across-Herd Sire Summary with an EPD of plus 8.5 lbs. 
• Floater is a dual-purpose boar and can be used to produce replacement females or lean, fast growing market hogs.  In either case he can also be used to make needed changes in design and structural soundness of hogs that are not tough enough to handle the system.
