- Cheeta is from a great litter which included four outstanding boars that sold to leading breeding farms for $1,600 to $6,300. Littermate gilts stood first and third at the Fall Classic and sold for $1,700 and $1,300. Parrish’s kept three equally impressive females from this powerful litter.
- Cheeta is by Monkey 2-3, the 1991 Fall Classic Premier Sire, that has consistently sired extra heavy structured hogs that are lean with an abundance of muscle. Monkey 2-3 is a tightly linebred boar that traces many times to Viking Horse, Viking Bald Eagle and Big Foot.
- On the bottom side of Cheeta’s pedigree, you will find HP Tool Box and At&T. Tool Box was a two time National Premier Sire and a legend in his own time. AT&T really stamped his offspring with extreme muscle and leanness.
- Cheeta combines the genetic strengths of his illustrious ancestors into one powerful package. He has the extra heaviness of structure and ruggedness of Monkey, the frame, length and leanness of Tool Box along with the natural width and extreme muscle mass of AT&T. He comes at you extra wide up front with a asculine head, en extremely wide chest floor and a thick center rib. When he walks away from you, his legs are out on the corners and his very thick rump and ham masks the view of his big rib and thick muscular loin.
- Cheeta is from a litter of 12 farrowed, 10 weaned and 143 lb 21-day litter weight.
- Cheeta’s dam is a littermate to the first place boar at the 1990 Southwest Duroc Congress. She and her four littermates have all been super productive at Parrish’s not only in terms of number of pigs weaned but also in terms of the excellent phenotypic design and superior performance of their offspring. PKG 2000, also a Monkey 2-3 by Tool Box-AT&T product, has sired an outstanding set of pigs at Guy Jackson’s. After being the contending bidder on PKG 2000, we continued to seek a Monkey 2-3 son of the same mold.
- Cheeta certainly has met all of our expectations and we are confident that he will be a prepotent sire of the ruggedness and toughness that have made Durocs famous along with the added muscle and leanness sought by all today.
