• North Star has established himself as one of the premier Duroc sires in the U.S.  He ranked 2nd in the first Duroc Crossherd Sire Summary on EPDS for days and 6th on TSI and MLI.  He also ranked second on EPDS for backfat in the Iowa Test Station Summary. 
• Although North Star has sired many show winners and was Premier Sire at the Iowa State Fair, Stewarts believe his greatest contribution to their program has been the commercial demand for and satisfaction with his sons.  Doug and Dave, along with most SGI visitors feel MUSKIE is certainly one of the best and most impressive sons of North Star to date. 
• Muskie was the very popular Champion and top selling Duroc boar at the Iowa State Fair.  He had the second highest TSI index out of 52 boars in his contemporary group.  He is a big framed, long bodied boar with a tremendous amount of muscle distributed over a super heavy structured skeleton.  A stout headed, yet long faced boar, MUSKIE excels in boldness of shoulder, spring of rib and substance of bone.  When viewed from the rear and up over his square shaped, expressive top, there is no doubt MUSKIE would have scanned a large loin to match his extra thick, muscular butt. 
• MUSKIE is from a litter of 11 born live, 9 after transfer and 8 weaned.  His maternal grandsire, First Choice 94-4, ranked 5th on SPI in the first Duroc Crossherd Sire Summary.
