•  NUDGE JR typifies the big, fast growing, thick, rugged, sound kind of boar that has made Durocs popular throughout the world. 
• NUDGE JR‛s sire, Nudge, was brought to SGI because he consistently sired this type of Duroc.  He sired the highest percentage of saleable Duroc boars and gilts with the least adjustments of any boar ever used in the Duane Christian herd. 
• Nudge was Premier Sire at the 1988 National Barrow Show where he sired the Champion Gilt and two of the more popular boars.  When it became apparent that the long, hot dry summer had seriously affected Nudge’s semen quality, Duane told us about an outstanding May son of Nudge.  We became very interested when we studied his outstanding performance and sound, basic meat-hog design.  An added bonus was the fact that he is a full brother (littermate dams) to the National Barrow Show Champion Gilt and the popular Second Place Boar purchased by Morton and consequently named Push. 
• NUDGE JR’s dam is sired by Cornerstone (SGI 155) and a member of the Nina sow family. Cornerstone consistently produced fast growing, trouble-free Durocs.  The Nina sow line has produced essentially all the top pigs exhibited by Duane in recent years. 
• NUDGE JR is a big framed boar that has excellent width and depth of body along with a big, thick loin, a wide rump, and a full deep ham.  He is a super sound boar with good bone and his legs out on the corners. 
• If you are interested in producing basic, trouble-free hogs that will perform and show with the best, consider NUDGE JR.  He is the kind of boar we often say is "strong enough to pull a plow."
