- TOOL BOX 30-7 was a class winner at the Southwest Duroc Conference.
- He is backed both on the top and bottom side of his pedigree by tremendous individuals in terms of performance and phenotype. His sire, WI Tool Box, is a son of the remarkably consistent generator and the National Premier Sire, HP Tool Box required 148 days to 230 lb with 0.66 backfat and 6.24 loin. Two of his littermate gilts were 1st and 2nd at the 1988 Autumn Classic. The sire of Tool Box 30-7’s dam was the top selling boar in the 1987 National Test with: 2.46 ADG, 125 days to 230, 0.85 BF and 6.14 LEA. A littermate to TOOL BOX 30-7’s dam was the 5th high indexing boar at the 1988 National Duroc Test.
- TOOL BOX 30-7 continued to grow rapidly yet stayed decidedly lean after coming off test. He had only 1.00 inch of backfat at 368 lbs with a 7.95 sq in loin eye and weight per day of age of 1.91 lb when exhibited at the Southwest Conference.
- TOOL BOX 30-7 is wide made both in the upper and lower part of his body cavity. He is a heavy structured, stout headed and massive boar. Like most of the HP Tool Box descendants, he has excellent muscle shape on top plus an extremely thick rump and a deep muscular ham.
- TOOL BOX 30-7 is an aggressive boar with a very good underline and produces a remarkably large amount of sperm. He is from a litter of 10 farrowed, 8 weaned with a littermate boar and three excellent gilts retained at Butts’ Farm.
- TOOL BOX 30-7 was originally scheduled to be exported to Japan. Because of his outstanding individual performance and phenotype plus the uniform excellence of his ancestors, we felt TOOL BOX 30-7 needed to be mated to some American sows.
