• Union Jack is an active, alert boar with an excellent muscle pattern for a maternal boar. 
• He is a tough-made boar with excellent cushion front and rear, stout bone and good toe mass.  His testicle size and placement is superior and he has a high quality underline. 
• Union Jack represents the third generation of the Uron line to serve at SGI.  At almost eight years of age the original Uron boar’s dance card is filled every week.  Uron’s ejaculate may be processed as liquid to go into domestic commercial herds to make productive, long lasting replacement females or may be frozen to do the same in other countries throughout the world.  All four grandparents of Union Jack go back to boars imported by SGI.  Besides Uron we have Ajao, Jens and Ulf.  These four boars combined represent almost 22 year of service to SGI and working class sows throughout the world. 
• If you study the pedigrees of the top 36 ranked Yorkshire boars for the maternal traits, you will see the positive influence these four boars have had on the breed.  During the mid 1990’s Union Jack’s maternal grandsire Jens 82-6 from the Rodibaugh herd produced many of the last truly maternal Yorkshire females to be shown nationally. 
• Union Jack’s dam and maternal grandam were both around for 10 or more parities and still were able to maintain a lifetime 21-day litter weight of 164 lb and 150 lb respectively.  There has been at least three 200 lb plus 21-day litters produced by the sows on the bottom side of his pedigree. 
• The years of documented production and the excellent history of longevity on both sides of the pedigree should take the gamble out of using Union Jack to produce a sow family that will become the backbone of your sow herd.
