• MORTVEDT is another boar we selected as a youngster in the nursery. 
• He is the stoutest fronted, widest based and heaviest boned of the five Large Whites imported in this group yet he is also one of the heaviest muscled. 
• He has a stout-masculine head, big shoulders, excellent spring of rib and a big square rump. 
• He has a wide chest floor, very good foot size and is very free moving and flexible off both ends. 
• MORTVEDT has excellent muscle shape over the top, a big dimple above the tail and a very thick, deep, muscular ham. 
• His sire, Moye 33, was one of the biggest, stoutest Large White boars we saw in Sweden or Denmark.  He has a tremendous breeding index of 135 with his progeny test group averaging 2.32 lb average daily gain, 2.30 feed conversion and 61% meat. 
• MORTVEDT’S dam was also a very impressive female.  Although she farrowed a small litter her first parity, she farrowed and weaned 11-11 and 12-12 in her second and third parities.  Her progeny test group averaged 62.4% meat. 
• Like the Swedish large Whites, MORTVEDT is stress negative. 
• Visitors to SGI have been fairly well divided on their favorite of the five new Large White imports. 
• MORTVEDT has had his share of admirers because of his muscle volume combined with extra width of skeleton and heaviness of structure.
