• KARISTAD  is the extreme one of the latest imports.  An extra long bodied, huge framed boar; he has the length of face and neck desired in a maternal line.  He has good muscle shape down his top and the extra frame necessary to take hogs to heavier weights. 
•  The test groups in Sweden on KARISTAD’s sire, dam and maternal grandsire excelled in gain and feed conversion.  His paternal grandsire required only 127 days to 220 lb with 0.30 backfat at Thames Bend in Canada. 
• KARISTAD is backed by excellent sow productivity.  On the top side, he is of King Arnie’s decent that has excelled in maternal traits in both Sweden and Canada. 
• KARISTAD’s dam has averaged 12.0 born live and 10.8 weaned in four parities while his maternal granddam has been one of the truly superior matrons at Magleberg with 13.7 born live, 13.0 weaned and 26.8 pigs per sow per year for six parities. 
• One of the things noted by many commercial producers is that some of today’s Yorkshires lack the length and frame size that has been a tradition with the mother breed.  KARISTAD can correct this condition in one shot.
