JGR0 PINNACLE 35-4

• PINNACLE  is linebred to Old Joe (SGI 274) and the 40 litter Hazel sows featured in the December 1988 Yorkshire Journal. 
• In the most recent Yorkshire Crossherd Sire Summary of 4384 boars, Old Joe was the 6^th ranking sire on litter weight with an EPD of 4.99 based on 235 daughters records in 8 herds.  A son ranked 5^th on litter weight with an EPD of 5.53.  The four 40 litter sows were outstanding generators as well as very prolific at Grimms.  Mated to Rat 154-3, they produced 24K, Ratchet, Rat 22-6 (outstanding Kirkwood Community College Herd Sire) and a number of other outstanding sires as well as numerous productive females retained at Grimm’s.  Each 40 litter sow produced 5 to 8 litters with an SPI of 102 to 105.  Their dam farrowed and raised 13 litters and stood at the top of Grimm’s SPI list for her first nine litters with a remarkable 108.42. 
• PINNACLE’s dam farrowed 13 and weaned 11 with a 135 lb weaning weight in her first litter.  She was mated AI to Prime Time to produce PINNACLE in her second litter farrowing 7 and weaning 7 (unfortunately none were available for transfer). 
• PINNACLE’s paternal granddam, Hazel 42-5 (Rat x 40-1), averaged 11.8 farrowed, 9.0 weaned and 136 lb 21-day weight IN 5 parities. 
• His maternal granddam, Hazel 41-4, was an Old Joe out of the 13-3 sow who in turn was a littermate to 24K (Rat x 40-3) and the mother of Chapter one (Challenge son that ranks 1^st  in EPD for days in Yorkshire Crossherd Summary).  Hazel 41-4 has averaged 11.0 farrowed, 10.3 weaned and 143 lb 21-day weight in her first 3 parities. 
• PINNACLE and his littermates were two of the more popular boars at the 1990 Yorkshire Winter Conference because of their youthful appearance, overall structural soundness and excellent design.  In the show on astro-turf, a significant number of the individuals were too soft on their pasterns, set too far back on the heel of their front feet and broke behind the shoulder.  PINNACLE and his littermate both excelled in these areas. 
• PINNACLE is also a heavy structured boar with good natural thickness and excellent spring of rib.  He excels in maternal traits being a long faced, long necked, long bodied boar with an excellent underline.
