• Freight Train was the 1989 Hampshire Hog College Boar. 
•  He is as long as a freight train; yet, is wide made with good spring of rib and natural body width.  He has excellent muscle shape on top and is long and thick in his rump and ham. 
•  Freight Train has very good substance of bone and is a loose structured free, easy moving boar.  He also has a very good underline, excellent testicle size and produces a large volume of high quality semen. 
•  Freight Train is backed by several generations of superior test station and on the farm performance from the Soorholtz and Settles herds.  His sire, Senator, was the $3400 top selling boar in the July 1988 Farmland Test Station Sale at Lisbon, IA.  He gained 2.27 lb per day with 0.63 in backfat, a 6.00 sq in loin eye and a 127.3 index.  Senator has sired several county and state fair winning barrows including the Champion Derby Barrows at the Bremer County Fair, Champion Carcass at the Lafayette County Fair and the Champion Pen of Three F-1 Gilts at the Missouri State Fair.  The Champion carcass pig was 31.3 long, 0.90 BF, 6.50 LEA at 245 lb. 
•  The sire of the dam of Freight Train, Hogger 5-7 is the number 2 ranking Hampshire sire for leanness and growth in the Central Test Station Sire Summary.  He has sired two top indexing test station pens and the Champion Derby Barrows at both the 1987 and 1988 Iowa Spring Market hog Show as well as the Reserve Champion Derby 4-H Barrow at the Iowa State Fair.  These barrows performance figures were: 2.2, 2.4, 2.3 ADG; 1.00, 1.20, 1.04 BF; 7.00, 7.60, 8.20 LEA; 32.8, 34.5, 33.9 length at 325, 340, 314 lbs live weight and 0.915, 1.005, 0.908 lb muscle gain per day, respectively.  The 1.006 pounds muscle gain per day is an Iowa Spring Market hog Show record and the 8.20 sq in loin eye was the largest at the Iowa State Fair.
