• SILVER & GOLD was the Champion boar at the 1992 Winter Type Conference.  More importantly he is backed by the most consistent and superior test station performance probably ever assembled in the Landrace breed. 
•  SILVER & GOLD  was the 3^rd high indexing boar over all breeds at the NEMO Test Station and a littermate was second high indexing at Alabama.  Six boars from his litter were tested in the NEMO and Alabama Central Test Stations with all six in the top 30% of the test.  These six boars averaged:  2.50 ADG, 0.63 BF, 5.90 LEA, 2.18 FE.  A littermate tested at home (130 days to 230, 0.67 BF, 5.93 LEA) was the Reserve Champion at the Winter Type Conference and another littermate tested at home (122 days 230, 0.74 BF, 5.94 LEA) was retained by Cedar Ridge. 
•  Previous identical matings to SILVER & GOLD  were tested at Alabama And Ohio.  The Ohio pen was the top indexing pen over all breeds with an average of 2.78 ADG, 129 days to 230, 0.64 BF, 6.64 LEA, and a record feed efficiency of 1.97.  A boar from this pen was the Reserve Champion at the 1991 Landrace Summer Conference.  The Alabama pen contained the 1^st and 3rd indexing boars over all breeds.  The three boars in this Alabama pen averaged:  2.59 ADG, 142 days to 230, 0.69 BF and 2.12 FE.  A total of 23 sons by SILVER & GOLD’s sire, Supreme 88-5, have been tested in Central Test Stations with an average performance of 2.49 ADG, 143 days to 230, 0.66 BF, 6.15 LEA and a remarkable 2.17 FE.  In addition to the record 1.97 FE at Ohio, Supreme 88-5 sired pens with 2.02 2.12, 2.14, and 2.17 conversion rates that were either the best or second best of their test groups.  Supreme 88-5 was also the first Landrace National Barrow Show Super Sire with his progeny group averaging:  1.56 ADG, 32.29 length, 1.11 carcass backfat, 5.61 LEA and 6.63 muscle quality. 
•  SILVER & GOLD is from a litter of 15 farrowed and 10 weaned with 152 lb 21-day weight.  His dam has averaged 11.8 farrowed, 9.8 weaned and 155 lb 21-day litter weight in 10 parities. 
•  SILVER & GOLD’s maternal granddam has averaged 10.0 farrowed, 9.8 weaned and 155 lb 21-day litter weight in 10 parities.  SILVER & GOLD’s maternal grandam has averaged 10.0 farrowed, 9.8 weaned and 155 lb 21 day litter weight in 5 parities.  The first full sister to SILVER & GOLD retained at Cedar Ridge has averaged 10.5 farrowed live, 11.0 weaned after transfer with a 149 lb 21-day litter weight. 
•  SILVER & GOLD is a super sound boar that is very correct in his design.  He is a long, level made boar with a high tail setting.  He is bold about his shoulder, has excellent spring of rib and is a wide based boar with very good width of chest floor.  The pigs from this mating have all been consistently heavy muscled hogs with excellent expression of muscle down their tops and big, thick meaty ham.
