The paternal grandam of He Man and Big Bone, the 3-6 sow, was sired by a Skycrest, a linebred Horizon. The 3-6 sow at Iowa State University is also the dam of the Champion Gilt, Reserve Champ Boar and the very popular and 2nd High Selling Boar, Spit & Polish, at the 2000 WPX. Her dam, the 67-2 sow, is also the dam of former SGI sire, Skyway, and is sired by a son of the great Kahuna boar.

The dam of He Man and Big Bone, the 2-2 sow, was a littermate to a gilt that had an actual loin eye cutout of over a 9.00 sq in at 280 lb with excellent color and marbling scores. The 2-2 sow is linebred to horizon and Casino Educator with each showing up three times in her pedigree. Both the Horizon and Casino Educator lines have excelled in meat quality in the National Barrow super Sire Tests.

He is a big framed, extremely lean appearing boar with tremendous substance of bone. Big Bone is also very heavy structured. Although not quite as extreme in leanness and frame size as his brother, Big Bone is a looser Structured, free – easier moving boar.
