  Rufus was the top indexing boar over all breeds at he Wisconsin Test Station and Reserve Junior Champion at the Southwest Conference. 
• He is a lean, muscular, well-balanced boar that has excellent Berkshire type and a solid black body with white points and erect ears.
• Rufus is a long bodied, level topped boar that is notably correct in his hip, rump and hock structure. 
• He is a bold yet clean fronted topped boar that is notably correct in his hip, rump and hock structure.  He is a bold yet clean fronted boar that is trim in his jowl and extra lean over his shoulder. 
• He possesses excellent muscle shape over the top and a thick muscular rear end.  The superior carcass attributes of Rufus have been bred-in for several generations at Pork Chop Ridge Farm. 
• He is linebred to Lennie 5-8, the Premier Sire at the National Barrow Show in 1983 and sire of the 1984 Premier Sire.  Rufus’ mother was the Grand Champion as well as the Illinois Reserve Champion boars in 1989.  She has farrowed 34 live pigs in 3 litters and weaned 31.  The Grandmother of Rufus is a littermate to the former SGI sire, Jericho.  Jericho sired the Grand Champion Production Barrow at the 1988 Wisconsin State Fair as well as Grand Champion Carcass overall breeds at the 1989 Wisconsin State Fair.  This purebred Berkshire barrow was 32.8 inches long with 0.70 carcass backfat and 6.10 loin.  Three littermate barrows to Rufus were 3^rd to the Champion and Reserve Berkshire at Houston, Champion Berkshire at the Walker County Show and Champion Berkshire at both the Munday Texas Jackpot Show and Knox County Show, respectively. 
•  We feel Rufus is ideally suited to mate with the rapid growing, stout made daughters of SGI 609, Beachboy, to produce superior generating boars and outstanding replacement gilts or top quality show pigs that will do the job in the ring or on the rail.
