• Real Pete is the product of a son-dam mating and is backed by superior performance throughout his pedigree.  His sire is a full brother to the dam of the 1989 NBS Hog College Boar that had 149 days to 230 lb, 0.83 BF and 6.43 LEA while on test at the Iowa State Swine Test Station. 
• His paternal grandsire had superior test figures of 126 days to 230, 0.78 BF and 6.50 LEA.  He sired the 1st and 3rd fastest gaining barrows and the Reserve Champion in the 1988 Iowa Production Classic.  Real Pete’s dam (and paternal granddam) RGW6S Illini Gal 14-1, was sired by the 1985 Summer Type Conference Grand Champion Boar and Purdue Test Station Graduate who in turn was by the record gaining (2.91 lb per day) $11,500 Ohio Test Station Graduate,  Record Breaker.  There have been several highly productive sows in Real Pete’s pedigree. 
• Real Pete’s dam has a lifetime BVSPI of 102.58 and is the foundation sow of Kehrli’s young but very impressive Poland herd.  The 16-7 and 16-8 sows at Albertsons and 16-10 at Cheryl Benecoffs (all full sisters to Real Pete’s sire) have produced a number of outstanding individuals including the 1989 NBS Hog College Boar, 1989 ATC Resrve Champion Boar and 2nd and 3rd place gilts.  Real Pete’s maternal granddam is a littermate to the 1985 NBS Champion that is still going strong at five years of age.  A littermate gilt to Real Pete’s paternal grandsire produced the 1989 Illinois Grand Champion Gilt and a number of other winners. 
• Real Pete is a big framed, long bodied yet remarkably thick made, heavy muscled boar.  He has a big, bold meaty shoulder, a very muscular top and a thick bulging ham. 
• He also has a very good underline with 7 well spaced high quality nipples on a side. 
• When you consider Real Pete is tightly linebred to a number of excellent breeding boars and productive sows along with his superior performance and phenotype, one is confident he will be a superior sire of lean and meaty hogs that will excel in the showring, feedlot and farrowing house.
