BLUEGRASS was the second fastest gaining boar of his contemporary group in the Tennessee Test Station with a 2.79 ADG, 128 days to 230 lb, and an excellent 224 FE. His two littermates in the same test had 2.51 and 2.41 ADG. Three littermates to his dam tested at the Southeastern Swine Evaluation Station averaged 2.41 ADG, 0.75 BF, and 249 FE. The sire of BLUEGRASS, Morgan, was the Premier Sire at the 1988 National Barrow Show. Morgan’s full brother was tested at the Ohio Swine Evaluation Station with a 2.68 ADG, 0.74 BF, 5.52 LEA, and 126 days to 230 lb. The maternal grandsire of BLUEGRASS is Fast Al (SGI 314), whose descendants have consistently excelled in central test stations.

BLUEGRASS is from a litter of 11 farrowed, 9 weaned, and 153 lb 21-day weight. His dam was a BVSPI of 104.04 and has averaged 10.6 farrowed, 9.4 weaned, and 134 lb 21-day litter weight for five litters. His maternal granddam was the mother of the outstanding 1988 National Barrow Show Hog College Gilt also sired by Morgan. She has averaged 11.4 farrowed, 10.5 weaned, and 128 lb 21-day litter weight for eight parities.

BLUEGRASS is a big framed, long bodied boar that has good natural thickness and ideal muscle shape for a Landrace. He stands on good bone and is a sound footed, free moving boar with an excellent underline.
