We have always been impressed with the uniform excellence of productivity and conformation of the King David 9-4 daughters at Shipley’s. When we were informed that his best son produced to date was available, we were confident he would make an outstanding addition to the SGI boar battery. KING DAVID 46-4 is also out of one of the top sows at Shipley’s with five sons retained as herd sires. She has averaged 11.3 farrowed and 11 weaned in four litters while her littermate has averaged 10.5 farrowed 10 weaned in four litters. KING DAVID 46-4 is out of an outstanding litter of 13 farrowed, 13 weaned and 178 pound 21-day weight. Every pig in the litter had an excellent underline of 14 well-spaced, high quality nipples and Shipley’s put 6 of the gilts into their sow herd. KING DAVID 46-4 is long-bodied yet a very thick made boar that is moderate in his length of leg and overall height. He is a soft made, very level designed boar that has excellent flexibility combined with a good volume of muscle as evidence by his 6.3 sq in loin eye. He is also a lean, heavy-boned, super sound and free moving boar that had a strong desire to breed at an early age. We feel that KING DAVID 46-4 has an outstanding combination of the traits needed to produce superior female lines along with the growth, leanness and muscle that are a must in producing profitable hogs whose product will be in demand by the consumer.
