AGAT’s pedigree is truly loaded with superior sow productivity and longevity. His dam and maternal granddam averaged 10.7 and 11.4 farrowed, 9.7 and 9.5 weaned after 6 and 8 parities, respectively, and are still going strong. His dam’s littermate averaged 14.4 farrowed and 12.6 weaned after five parities. The preceding three generations of sows to AGAT’s maternal granddam farrowed 13 (still producing), 13 and 17 litters with lifetime averages of 13.9, 14.0 and 13.4 born live and 11.1, 11.0 and 9.7 weaned. AGAT’s paternal granddam (142) is also the foundation sow of his dam’s line with the 17 parities and lifetime average of 13.4 born live, 9.7 weaned. This sow appears in the pedigree of all four of AGAT’s grandparents. Her granddaughter, 204, is the maternal great granddam of AGAT. She is one of the most outstanding sows we have ever had the opportunity to observe. She was very impressive standing in a gestation crate expecting her 14th litter (lifetime average for 13 litters: 13.9 born live and 11.1 weaned). AGAT has a perfect underline of 8 very evenly spaced, high quality teats on a side that start extremely far forward (4 in front of the sheath). AGAT is a sound boar with excellent cushion to his front legs. AGAT’s sire has an outstanding breeding index of 117. His 5 progeny test groups averaged 14 mm (0.55 in) backfat, 19 lb less of feed per 100 lb of gain and a perfect leg score of 3.0. AGAT’s dam has a 107 breeding index with 14 mm (0.55 in) backfat and 17 lb less feed per 100 lb gain on 2 progeny test groups.  Her sire has a 113 breeding index. AGAT is a thick made, wide chested, well balanced boar. He is lean and meaty with a bold shoulder, a muscular loin and a tick square rump. Based on his ancestor’s records, AGAT should certainly contribute to increased sow productivity and longevity; but, we are also confident he will contribute in the areas of underline quality, leanness, meatiness and correct structural design.
