• Big Mike is one big, wide made, super stout boar as his name implies
• Stout headed, wide chested, bold shouldered, immersive about his rib cage and huge thru his rump; he is extra wide from end to end
• Big Mike is also deep in his fore rib and middle and carries his extra depth back into the flank region
• Heavy structured, he has a big blade and fore arm as well as stout bone and big feet.
• Big Mike is ideal in his backfat and overall body condition for a maternal line boar allowing his daughters to be heavy milking, yet come out of the farrowing crate in ideal condition
• As added feature with Big Mike is his superior growth rate at 137 days to 250 lb (114 kg)
• Big Mike’s dam average born alive is somewhat low due to her farrowing one small liter; however, after transfer she has averaged 9.7 weaned with a very good 159 lb litter wt. and has EPD of -6.4 ADG (top 1%) and 4.42 LWT resulting in a 124.6 MLI (top 9%)
• Big Mike dam’s mother and two grandmothers both have very good maternal records. They averaged 10, 10 and 10.7 weaned with 160 lb, 167 and 164 lb 21-day litter weights for 4, 9 and 6 parities
• His sire, Valdron 27-6, has EPDs of -3.1 days, 0.4 NBA, 5.6 LWT and a 119.5 SPI while Valdron’s dam has EPDs -5.2 Days (top 2%) and 123.0 MLI (top 10%)
