• CALIFORNIA and his two littermates ranked 1st, 3rd, and 4th in the California Central Test at Chico.  Their average daily gain of 2.30 pounds becomes more significant when you realize they were tested during the hot portion of the California summer when daily temperatures were often between 95 and 110 degrees F. in a 5 X 8 foot, totally slatted pen with 4 inch slats and 1.5 inch gaps. 
• CALIFORNIA‛S development since he arrived at SGI has been the most satisfying of any boar we have purchased.  He is the soundest, widest walking (front and rear) most agile and aggressive Duroc boar we have owned.  He has superior cushion to his pasterns and flex to his joints. 
• In addition he has excellent foot size and continues to develop more bone and skeletal mass.  Although they do not measure loin muscle area of boars in the California Test Station, CALIFORNIA has visual indications of superior muscling.  He has tremendous spring to his rib with excellent, muscle expression over his loin and displays an extremely wide, thick rump. 
• CALIFORNIA is from a litter of 10 farrowed 10 weaned with 134 pound 21-day weight.  His pedigree contains several top Duroc sires including Port, Cooper, Shock, RB Motor, and Soggy.
