WFDM1 Chip is a high quality, good-scaled, superbly and correctly structured, easy moving, long bodied hog with a very heavy-duty skeleton. His boldness of front and shoulder, expansive heart girth with excellent rib shape and total flexibility of skeleton are indicative of swine that thrive in an intense production situation and live a long, long time.
He also exhibits extra width in the pelvic region of his body build which will be inherited through his daughters and grand daughters
Chip features extreme male aggression, tremendous semen quality and an excellent underline
His feet and leg placement are perfectly set and correct. Bone is clean and in the right degree for his maturity
Tremendous sow records exist in abundant fashion on both sides of his pedigree. Chip's dam, at the time of his introduction here, had a SPI of 135.08 and MLI of 141.80 respectively. She is a fifth parity female averaging 13 pigs per litter with a 175 b, 21-day litter weight average. This mating produced 13 born with 11 weaned at 179.45 lb litter weight
His maternal grandam, Dorothea 12-12 expressed high stages numbers of MLI 141.80 and SPI of 114.64
Maternal grandsire, BTI8 Zump SSP 92-11 also contributed with 125.5 MLI and 135.0 SPI and is currently ranked 3rd on SPI
The imported, 7 SGI Zook 867 0-0 is the maternal great-grandsire with final stages numbers of MLI 139.52 and SPI of 131.72 and currently ranked 6th on MLI
Paternal grandmother, Dorothea 293-7 boasts excellent stages numbers of 126.84 MLI and 117.92 SPI going back to the Captain line once quartered at SGI. In her lifetime history she averaged 13.5 born alive with 11.5 weaned.
The Captain lineage has influence on both sides of Chip's ancestry
"Manheim line" at Waldo's leads back to the "Ladman & M Unit 1" genetic base that has been so prevalent in their breeding system of Yorkshires
