  • Belgian was the $18,500 1989 National Barrow Show Champion Chester White Boar.  He was the talk of the barn because of his tremendous stoutness, extreme leanness and excellent design.  Belgian is a stout headed, tremendously big bladed and heavy boned boar.
  • He is a super sound, long striding, free moving and big-footed boar with excellent testicle size.
  • Belgian’s sire, New Trend, was purchased by Lorenzen Farms because, as Tracy said, "He was without a doubt the heaviest boned and one of the leanest Chesters they had seen in the last two years”.  New Trend reached 230 lb in 152 days with 0.65 in backfat and has consistently sired super lean, very heavy structured, sound and durable hogs.  Lorenzens have retained a number of powerful females sired by New Trend.  New Trend’s sire, Pogo, has been one of the top sires in the Chester breed and especially noted for his ability to generate very heavy structured, lean Chesters.  New Trend’s dam is a full sister to Shea the sire of SGI 516 Special.  Belgian’s dam has been an excellent milking sow that is a consistent generator of superior offspring.  She has averaged 9.7 farrowed and 8.0 weaned with an outstanding 141 lb 21-day litter weight and a 207 SPI in her first three litters.  She was also the dam of the $8,000 1988 National Barrow Show Champion Boar and Lorenzen’s have retained 10 daughters from her first 3 litters.
  • Belgian’s maternal grandsire, All Right, was the $10,000 1985 National Barrow Show Champion and has been Premier sire at a number of state and national shows.  Again, he made his mark by consistently siring Chesters that are superior in heaviness of structure and leanness.  All Right has sired several champion and top placing barrows that have also excelled on the rail.  The 1987 NBS Reserve Carcass Truckload sired by All Right had the following cutout: 32.5 length, 0.77 BF and 6.08 LEA at 242 lb.  All Right’s daughters have been some of the best generating sows in the Chester breed.
  • Because of the consistent superiority for leanness and heaviness of structure represented in Belgian’s pedigree, we are confident he will stamp his offspring with these traits
