• When we unexpectedly lost KD& Bos 97-5 due to a ruptured spleen, Dee Brothers offered to let us have KD BOS 131-1, a boar they had retained as their junior herd sire. 
• Eric calls the dam of KD Bos 131-1 their best sow.  She is one of the first sows  you notice in the tethered gestation unit because of her extra heaviness of skeleton, natural width of body, and level, functional design. 
• KD BOS 131-1 is out of a litter of 12 farrowed, 11 weaned, and 151 lb 21-day litter weight.  His dam has averaged 11.2 farrow, 10 weaned, 150 lb 21-day litter weight, and a 156-day farrowing interval on five litters. 
• His paternal grandsire, HSO4 King David 34-5, has been the most influential boar in the Dee Brothers herd. 
• Over 60% of the present sows in the Dee Brothers sow herd are King David 34-5 daughters because of their superior adaptation to tethering on slats in the gestation barn, farrowing the largest litters with the heaviest pigs at weaning, and consistenetly producing growthy, sound, durable offspring that have worked for Dee's commerical customers. 
• KD BOS 131-1 is a wide spring, heavy structured, super sound boar with large, even toes.  He is a long sided boar and has an excellent underline of 8 evenly spaced teats on a side. 
• Just as his predecessor, KD BOS 131-1 has the superior length, correctness of design and soundness backed by outstanding sow productivity that we were seeking in a Large White, with and added bonus of being heavier structured and wider made than most.
