CHINOOK is another exciting boar we selected from the herdsire pens at Designed Genetics.
-
He impressed us with his extremely trim raw design. He is a very clean fronted, trim middled boar that doesn’t carry any excess baggage anywhere on his long extended body. In a grade and yield buying system, the extra trimness and freedom of fat that CHINOOK has can add to both your grade and yield premiums.
-
CHINOOK also is very expressive in his muscle with particular good shape down his top and a very shapely, meaty ham. An extra aggressive, heads-up boar, CHINOOK is remarkably mobile and agile with excellent foot size. He has particularly good angulation up front and is very desirable in his hip, rump and hock structure.
-
On the top side, CHINOOK carries Iceberg breeding that has been synonymous with extra leanness. The offspring of CHINOOK’s sire have excelled in performance. His sire has a –0.043 EBV for backfat, -4.5EBV for days and a 131 EBV index.
-
CHINOOK’s dam has a 163 Pig Champ SPI with a 146 days farrowing interval and average of 8.7 weaned for 3 litters.
-
Like the warm Chinook winds that bring a welcome change during a cold winter, CHINOOK can bring about a definite change in your breeding program toward leaner, higher yielding and more profitable market hogs.
