WKM1 CRUNCH TIME 26-1

• CRUNCH TIME was the very popular and high selling boar at the 1992 Southeastern National Duroc Congress.  He was projected by many to be the breeding boar of the Conference because of his great deviation from the norm. 
•  He was the most extreme boar in terms of leanness, length of body and ham muscling.  When exhibited, he had only 0.56 in of backfat at 308 lb and is not only excellent in his leanness over the top but is very trim and fat free down over his shoulder and along his underline. 
• CRUNCH TIME is an extra long bodied, long rumped boar that is very level made and remarkably flexible considering his extreme muscle.  He has superior muscle shape over his fore rib, along his loin and out through his rump.  However, where he really excels is in his ham muscling displaying enormous bulge to the stifle as he walks along with tremendous thickness and shape to his upper and lower as well as outside and inside ham areas.  Raised in total confinement on concrete slats in a pen of 20 boars;
• CRUNCH TIME is sound and free moving with very good bone and even toe size.  He is an extremely aggressive, very active boar with good set and flex both front and rear. 
• CRUNCH TIME’s sire, Footprint 2-2, has consistently sired fast growing, lean, heavy muscled Durocs.  At the 1991 Duroc Congress, Miller’s two entries by Footprint 2-2 were two of the fastest growing boars with extra large loin eye scans (8.22 & 8.48) and only 0.90 and 1.00 backfat at 360 and 375 lbs.  Footprint 2-2 had individual performance of 147 days to 230 lb, 0.71 BF and 6.5 LEA while his dam, Footprint 15-6, has been one of the very best and most productive sows in the Huinker herd with 10.7 born and 8.8 weaned in 7 parities. 
• CRUNCH TIME’S dam is sired by a son of HP Tool Box, the National Premier Sire in 1990, who consistently generated heavy structured, lean made Durocs.  Today many commercial producers are feeling the "Crunch" as consumers and packers demand leaner hogs.  Certainly SGI 1105 Real Time offers a step in the right direction.
