WHI1 NOBLE 330-12

• Noble 330-12 is another example of Whiteshire’s ability to produce outstanding maternal production sires for intensive commercial confinement operations.  The fact that for many generations the sires and dams have been selected under the same stressful conditions hogs are grown in today, should take the guess work out of using Noble in your program. 
• Study the picture of Noble and try to find a hole in his structural design.  It’s a good lesson in longevity, durability and toughness.  Look at the extra length of rump and the bold, massive, correctly designed front shoulder. 
• Noble is made to order to go on big Landrace or Yorkshire sows to open up their body cavity and power up their skeletal structure. 
• Karistad and Winchester sires on the maternal side were big hogs and should improve the chances of Noble sired daughters getting about the right size at maturity. 
• Lars 97 on both sides should be given much of the credit for the added inside dimension, rib shape, top line, correctness and bone mass. 
• Both Karistad and Lars were near the top of the Stages report for maternal traits throughout their lifetime. 
• Noble’s sire, Champion Boy 99-4, was the product of Ray Moorman’s effort to develop an outcross line from Reno Thomas Chioice Lad Line and Tracy Lorenzen’s Frontier 273-4.  Champion boy 99-4 was from a litter of 13 born and 13 weaned that weighed 178# at 21 days.  The Glory sow line has contained productive sows that excel in the areas of litters per year, number born alive and litter weights.  Noble’s dam has EPDs of 0.4 NBA, 6.61 LWT and MLI of 116.0.  His maternal grandma has a lifetime average of 11 NBA, 10 W, 152 lb LWT, 150 day F1 and 23.52 pigs weaned per year.
