• RIGHTWAY was Grimm’s canididate for the National Barrow Show.  He is a mighty impressive individual backed by supreme STAGES performance on both sides of his pedigree.  An extra wide made, thick muscled and durable boar,
• Rightway is a lean topped boar that scanned the largest loin eye at Grimm’s since he has converted to "Real Time" scanning.  He is also above average in frame and is a super sound, heavy structured boar with very even toes. 
• The bottom side of Rightway’s pedigree reads like a Who’s Who in sow productivity.  His dam is by Old Joe 1-2, a former trait leader in 21-day litter weight.    She has had the top weaning weights of 182 and 178 lb in her contemporary group in both of her last two litters and has a lifetime average of 11.5 weaned and 159 lb 21-day litter weight. 
• Rightway’s maternal granddam is by Ulf who wrote the book on sow productivity.  She is also a granddaughter of the original Hazel sow that established the extremely productive and consistent generating Hazel line at Grimm’s.  Eleven pens by Rightway’s sire, Detour, have been tested in central test stations.  Two have been top ranking pens and four have ranked 2nd over all breeds.  The average performance of these 33 centrally tested boars has been 2.51 ADG, a remarkable 135 days to 230, 0.71 BF, 6.07 LEA and 220 FE.  The Hog College Boar in 1992 and 1994 and an all-time, all-breed record for lean gain per days of 1.27.  Detour is also one of the top ranking boars in the Yorkshire Crossherd Sire Summary for backfat EPDs with a -0.09 based on 1166 progeny.  Detour’s first daughters have been consistently wide made, thick muscled, problem free and very desirable females that are heavy milkers.  They readily recycle and settle after weaning.
