• LAGER was the very popular $13,000 Reserve Champion Yorkshire boar at the 1991 World Pork Expo.  Visitors from throughout the world marveled at his extreme leanness (0.45 inch BF-lowest of any Yorkshire), excellent muscle expression and superior length of body combined with outstanding structural design. 
• He is a long-necked, level-designed, loose-structured, heavy boned boar that is super sound. 
• LAGER was the top-ranking boar in his contemporary test group at Ricker’S.  A littermate boar retained by Ricker’s was second ranking and a full brother ranked 3^rd, while another LAGER littermate was 4^th.  All four of these boars had less than 0.60 inch of backfat.  Littermate gilts or full sisters to LAGER also held down the top five rankings in their contemporary group on the Yorkshire STAGES program.

• LAGER’s sire, Regal was Premier Sire of the 1991 World Pork Expo Show.  In addition to LAGER, he sired the $27,000 Champion Boar and a $4000 3^rd place boar.  The six daughters of Regal exhibited at the World Pork Expo were also extremely popular averaging over $2800 each.  Regal had only 0.49 inch backfat and required 148 days to 230.  He has excellent STAGES figures including a Maternal Index of 104.5 and Terminal Sire Index of 118.4 with EPDs of Days – 1.56 and BF –0.04.  LAGER’s dam is sired by Blue Chip 253-10, who is one of the top ranking boars in the Yorkshire Cross Herd Sire Summary with a SPI of 106.6.  Maternal Line Index of 104.9 and EPD for Number Born live of +0.50.  LAGER was from a litter of 12 born, 10 weaned with 139 lb 21-day litter weight. 
• LAGER’s dam and her two littermates ranked 1^st, 3^rd, and 9^th out of 130 sows on SPI at Ricker’s while his maternal granddam ranked 8^th with 103.67 SPI after five parities.  A littermate boar and gilt to LAGERs dam each won their classes at the 1990 YORKSHire Winter Type Conference.  SGI feels fortunate to be able to offer our customers semen from several of the top ranking sires in the Yorkshire Crossherd Sire Summary, such as Challenge, Ulf, O.J., Mr. Loin, Ultra and California.
