• Originally we visited Charlie Carr’s to look at Windwalker (SGI 451); however, when we saw Amazon and studied his tremendous performance and that of his littermates, we knew we had to own both of them. 
• Like the river he is named after, Amazon is an extremely long, wide, deep-bodied boar. 
• When you view their tremendous overall body dimension compared to other pigs their age, it is easy to understand why he and his littermates performed so well.  The five pigs scanned in the litter averaged 124 days to 230 lb, 0.80 BF, and 6.09 LEA while being raised in a Cargill unit. 
• Amazon is not only amazing in his growth pattern but also in the tremendous amount of muscle he contains while maintaining overall looseness and flexibility to his skeleton. 
• He is an extremely thick muscled boar from end to end with a big, bold shoulder, excellent muscle shape over his loin, and an extremely thick and muscular rump and ham. 
• He is a level made boar that can easily raise his head above the top of his shoulder because of the extreme flexibility to his spine.  A sound and very active boar, he is as mobile and aggressive as a school of piranhas! 
• Amazon is a paternal half brother to the 1987 National Barrow Show Champion and his dam is a littermate to the second top selling boar at the 1986 NBS Hampshire Show.  He is from a litter of 9 farrowed, 9 weaned with 111 lb 21-day weight, and has a very high quality underline. 
• Amazon is a very extreme boar in the areas of growth, muscle, and flexibility yet is sound and basic in other areas needed in todays hog industry.
