- Fred was the Champion Boar at the 1989 Landrace Summer Conference.
- He had outstanding performance (2.40 ADG with only 0.72 BF) to match his excellent phenotype. His sire was the top indexing boar over all breeds at the Ohio Test Station with 2.54 ADG, 0.67 BF, 6.84 LEA and 229 FE.
- Fred is from a litter of 10 farrowed live, 9 weaned with a 154 lb. 21 day litter weight. His dam has averaged 12.25 farrowed live, 9.25 weaned and a 139 lb. 21 day litter weight for 8 litters.
- Fred is a big framed, long bodied, long rumped boar yet is wide sprung with excellent muscle shape over the top, out through the rump and down through the ham. He is a wide based, wide chested boar that is very sound on his feet and legs.
- Fred Grohmann has dedicated his life to producing sound, superior performing Landrace that are lean with muscle.
